Thermodur Scale X 1100 is a spray-on agent designed for heat treatment of steel. It ensures uniform heating and cooling of the material, creating a protective coating that prevents scale formation on the metal surface, reduces the risk of steel decarburization, and reduces the risk of hardening defects. The agent is ideal for heat treatment processes, such as those of tools and knife blanks, where uniform heating and cooling of the material is essential. Thermodur Scale X 1100 is a quick-drying, efficient product (layer thickness approx. 10-15 µm) and easily removable after heat treatment.
How to use:
The workpiece should be cleaned, dusted, and degreased before applying the product.
Shake the spray can to mix the ingredients. Apply a very thin layer of the product to the surface of the workpiece. After at least 10 minutes, it is recommended to apply a second coat. Allow the workpiece to dry completely before placing it in the oven. Drying time at room temperature is 30 minutes. Place the material in the oven and heat treat it. Allow the material to cool, during which time the Thermodur Scale X 1100 will begin to flake. Gently remove any remaining coating with a wire brush.
Notes:
It is best to apply the varnish in two thin layers, leaving each to dry completely. dry.
When spraying, work under a fume hood, outdoors, or in well-ventilated areas.
