The protective leggings consist of a shin guard and a foot guard.
Steel straps are attached to the sides of the shin guard with rivets, stiffening the guard. A spring steel strap is attached to the middle of the guard, shaped to fit snugly against the leg when the guard is put on. The foot guard is sewn to the shin guard, and a spring steel strap is also attached to the center of the guard. The lower part of the foot guard is trimmed with split cowhide leather, reinforcing the lower part of the gaiters against damage.
The protective leggings are made of metallized para-aramid/Preox fabric.
